Transitional/Bridge Housing

Our transitional housing program is designed to empower a recently homeless individual or family as soon as possible. We offer a program that allows the participant(s) to regroup, save money, and focus on achieving goals set with their case manager when accepted into the program. They must consistently meet or exceed these goals and work towards attaining permanent housing. They must also be employed and able to provide identification such as a driver's license or state identification card, or United States passport showing they are an Anson County resident.

Residents will be responsible for a rent equal to 30 percent of the area median income (AMI) for Anson County.

At the same time, they must focus on saving money, excelling at the workplace, adjusting to a new way of managing their lives and income, and participating in offerings from the program. We will provide mentors to guide participants, and to be a support system as they transition back into permanent housing. We will offer education in financial literacy, managing a checking account, nutrition, cooking, childcare, budgeting, home maintenance, and other empowerment skills through community resources and partnerships. We will also connect them to services if they qualify.

We will work with South Piedmont Community College (SPCC) and provide MoneySmart training through their Human Resources Development program. We also partner with Networx, another financial literacy program, which allows the participant to choose which program best fits their schedules and needs. We will provide electronic devices, if necessary.

We will also offer matching savings accounts up to $500 to have a nest egg when they graduate from the program. We will keep up with the participant(s) for twelve months after they graduate to track their success and to offer mentorship along the way. We hope that they will "give back" to the program by becoming future mentors.

An intake committee that includes the case manager will review applications, interview applicants, conduct background, credit checks drug testing, and determine if the applicants fit the program's format. If you are interested in applying, please complete this questionnaire or contact us at 704-465-2437 or 704-668-4952 or ansonhomesofhope@gmail.com.
